God’s Call

In order to look at God’s call to faith and our response, read the early chapters of any book of a prophet in the Old Testament. Notice both their reluctance to respond and God’s intention of not taking ‘no’ for an answer.

Now look at the calling of the disciples in the Gospels. Note how willingly they responded to Christ’s ‘follow me’.

Why were the prophets reluctant to answer God’s call?

Why was it so much easier to answer Jesus’ command?
