

Abraham lived probably some 3000 years ago and is hailed by Judaism, Christianity and Islam as the outstanding example of faith in God. This came about by him openly declaring his faith that God as the possessor of heaven and earth was, righteous, wise, just and merciful. He also showed his faith by readily doing what God asked of him including leaving the comforts of the city of Ur and venturing into the wilderness. But he had weaknesses in his character not least when he told the King of Egypt that his wife was his sister. Yet God remained faithful to his promise to him and his descendants; a covenant we still enjoy today.
In the week ahead, let’s study Abraham’s life again and see what it has to say to us in today’s faithless wilderness.
